Our Environmental Plan

Hanley Calibration Services Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050

Our Commitment to Carbon Reduction

At Hanley Calibration, we recognise our responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and to support the transition towards a more sustainable future.

As a company providing Calibration, Validation, Commissioning and Technical Resource services across a range of industries, we understand the importance of operating efficiently while maintaining the high standards of quality and compliance expected by our customers.

Environmental responsibility forms part of our wider commitment to operating responsibly. We are continually looking for practical ways to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency and encourage sustainable practices across our business.

As our understanding of our carbon footprint develops, we will continue to identify, implement and measure initiatives that can contribute to meaningful emissions reductions.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Hanley Green Grant Initiative

In 2022, we introduced our Green Grant Initiative to help our employees make practical improvements that reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Through the initiative, employees can receive financial support towards a range of carbon-reducing measures, including home insulation, energy-efficient windows and doors, heat pumps, heating controls, solar energy, EV charging and other energy-efficiency improvements.

The initiative shows that sustainability extends beyond the workplace. By supporting our people in making positive changes in their everyday lives, we can collectively contribute to reducing emissions while creating more energy-efficient homes and communities.

Small changes. Big impact.

Carbon Reduction Projects

As part of our Carbon Reduction Plan, we have identified a number of areas where further improvements can be made. These projects focus on reducing energy consumption, improving operational efficiency, reducing unnecessary travel and supporting sustainable behaviours across our teams.

Our Planned and Ongoing Projects Include:

Emissions Reduction Targets

Hanley Calibration recognises that effective carbon reduction requires clear objectives, reliable measurement and ongoing review.

Our initial priority is to establish a robust baseline of our greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories.

Once our baseline has been established and verified, we will set measurable reduction targets and monitor progress against these targets annually.

Our approach will focus on:

Scope 1, Scope 2 & Scope 3 – Understanding Our Emissions

As our carbon reporting develops, Hanley will continue to assess the relevance of these categories and improve the quality of the data used to calculate our footprint.

Current Carbon Footprint

Reporting Year: 2025/2026

Hanley Calibration is currently developing its greenhouse gas emissions reporting framework to establish a clear and consistent understanding of the emissions associated with our operations.

Our emissions inventory covers the relevant Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories in accordance with recognised greenhouse gas accounting principles.

As our data collection and reporting processes mature, we will continue to improve the accuracy and completeness of our emissions reporting and use this information to guide future carbon reduction initiatives.
